Our Big Move

It as been a long time since I have posted and that is because we have been busy. We have grown and in order to do this, we had to move our operation. We are now located in Buhl, Idaho with more than five times the production area. More to come, soon!

2013 Winter Squash

2013 Winter Squash

A fraction of the winter squash that we harvested. Acorn, delicata, spaghetti, pumpkins, butternut, kuri, hubbard, and more.

Finally Fall

Fall/winter is finally here. The frost has hit the pumpkins and the potatoes are dug. The hoop houses are up and ready for winter and early spring production. The pigs are still on pasture with the chickens and will remain there all winter. They will have access to the garden as soon as the carrots are dug. These are good days on the farm. Life is not as busy and the kids love to help harvest. My daughter said that digging potatoes was like an Easter egg hunt. We also get to eat the bounty of our hard work and rest a little.

Summer 2013

Summer 2013

This summer has been as busy as ever. We have ventured into produce, produced more pork, and tried to get it all to market. We still have two weeks or so of fresh produce before frost and then we will have winter squash, onions, potatoes, carrots, eggs, pork, chicken and rabbit. If you would like tomatoes, green beans, beets with tops, peppers, honeydew melon, cucumbers, fresh raspberries, etc. now is the time to call. We also are about five months out on ordering butcher pigs. If you want a pig for January or February not is the time to reserve your pig. The photo is Inks second litter out on pasture at about three weeks old.

Summer Vegetables

The potatoes are blooming and the first sweet corn is tasseling. Peas are ready and harvest is in full speed mode. This is our busy season and also the fun part of the year. We get to taste the fruits of our labor and see the beauty of it.

This is what I started last week and will be working on today. This is a 46 inch cut. The question is, can I split it.

Full on Summer

Summer is officially here. I feel that it has been here for months. The weeds have been doing well and so have a few of the plants that we planted. We have produce available along with eggs, pork, and beef. An of course you can order ahead and receive a discount. It is suppose to get up to 71 today and 99 on by Friday. Exciting. Confusing.
